For a 17" spare when running stock 20" tires, a 285/70/17 is the perfect size. Stock 20 = 33" tall new 285/70/17 = 32.8" tall new which is the perfect size to put on when you have stock 20's. Stock Temp spare = 32.4" tall.

This is the full kit that I retrofitted to my S-Line A1 with Bose. The wheel is 16", which fitted mine fine when trial fitted. Being the kit, it includes the large retaining screw and also the boot organiser which makes everything flat/level and very OEM! I purchased the wheel from these forums, and the screw and organiser from Audi (not cheap!).

I think these were dealer installed options on new Mustangs. The overall diameter is within 1/4" of the road wheel diameter I have on the car. Think I paid around $200 shipped.
