The major chemical components of the sulfide refractory gold ore and pyrite are shown in Table 2. The sulfide refractory gold ore (SRGO) contains 30.34% Fe, 22.23% S, 11.19% As, 3.24% Al and 60.25 g/t Au. The total content of Fe, As and S is up to 63% of the sulfide refractory gold ore. The pyrite contains 43.36% Fe and 41.26% S.
To asses this, we systematically compared metal tenors (Ni, Cu, and the PGE) of ores from two perspectives — i) different ore types in each segment and ii) a single ore type across all four ...
Gold ore from Goldstrike, NV, is a typical refractory gold ore containing sulfide and carbonaceous matter. Alkaline pressure oxidation followed by thiosulfate gold leaching results in low gold ...
The metamorphosed Boliden volcanic-hosted massive sulfide (VHMS) ore deposit, northern Sweden, is characterized by an abundance of massive arsenopyrite ore and unusually high gold enrichments (up to 300–600 g/t) in crosscutting veins and fracture zones. ... (30–50 ppm on average) and systematically decrease to 0–2.7 ppm with …
Sulfide self-heating can make working conditions dangerous as oxygen levels can be depleted and significant quantities of sulfur dioxide (SO 2) released (Ninteman, 1978). If uncontrolled, ignition can occur, which is particularly difficult to contain. Mount Isa Mines Ltd. (Australia) has seen cases of spontaneous combustion of sulfides ...
Research on magmatic sulphide ore genesis mainly focuses on sulphide melt-silicate melt equilibria. ... these structures are systematically associated with sulphide minerals suggesting they ...
In response to the environment and economic problems attributed to the usage of large amount of lime and sulfuric acid in high alkaline preferential process (HAPP), this research systematically investigated a new, environment friendly and cost-effective flotation approach for the selective separation of galena, sphalerite, and pyrite from a …
Abstract—Gold and silver are capable of forming stable natural compounds with different elements. For gold 36 minerals are known: 10 in the class "Native metals, intermetallic compounds" and 26 in the class "Sulfides (selenides, tellurides, arsenides, antimonides, bismuthides)." For silver, 194 minerals are registered in the MMA, …
To elucidate the process mechanism of self-generation of thiosulfate from refractory sulfide gold ore at atmospheric pressure, this section systematically …
Cinnabar, mercury sulfide (HgS), is the principal ore of mercury. (more below) Cinnabar is very dense, 8.1 times as dense as water, has a distinctive red streak and has hardness 2.5, barely scratchable by the fingernail. There are very few minerals that might be confused with cinnabar, but realgar is softer and cuprite is harder.
Sulphide ores that are mined for nickel and cobalt typically contain 1.5%–3% Ni and 0.05%–0.1% Co. Concentration, Smelting and Converting to Matte The sulphide ores …
Sulfide phase relations in the system Fe-Ni-Cu-S have been widely studied for the understanding of ore deposit formation (Craig & Kullerud 1969, Naldrett 1969, Fleet & Pan 1994, Ebel & Naldrett ...
It is an important research direction in the future to systematically establish the theoretical system of the influence of seawater on the interaction of sulfide minerals flotation. 2. ... therefore, little research has been conducted on this topic. In fact, in sulfide ore flotation concentrates, silica is usually the most common impurity. ...
The enhancement mechanism of adapted adsorption behavior in the bioleaching of copper-bearing sulfide ore by Acidithiobacillus sp. was systematically investigated from a mineralogical viewpoint and compared to adsorption-deficient (DF) and adsorption-unadapted (UA) systems. With the assistance of the adapted adsorption …
Extensive sideritization, dolomitization, and silicification of the metalimestones and calcareous slates of the Middle Gorevsk Formation are associated with the massive sulfide ore lenses . The alteration is systematically zoned away from the sulfide lenses, with the thickness of individual zones varying from 2 to 80 m.
This study aims to optimize the traditional flotation process of Mo–Bi sulfide ore by using the difference in natural floatability of minerals for cleaner production. Single-mineral flotation ...
Sulfation roasting, a common activation technique, is a potential method for cleaner production of nickel from complex low-grade ores. In this study, nickel oxide–sulfide mixed ore concentrate ...
The presence of pentlandite-pyrrhotite foliation in massive sulfides (Fig. 3a) and symplectitic chalcopyrite-pyrite intergrowths reflects an overprint of … See more
Gold-silver ore minerals and sulfide minerals systematically vary between types of epithermal deposits, reflecting differences in hydrothermal fluid chemistry, especially sulfidation and oxidation states (Figs. 4 and 9; Table 1). Common ore and sulfide minerals in each deposit type are:
13.8.1 Introduction. Magmatic ore deposits are masses of igneous rock enriched in useful chemical elements to such an extent that it is feasible to mine them at a profit. To be considered an ore, an accumula-tion of an element must combine high grade with large ton-nage and must be accessible to mining operations.
sulfide ore resources only account for 28% of the global nickel resources. With the long-term development and utilization, the global nickel sulfide ore reserves keep declining and the resource endowment is declining day by day. Especially in the recent 20 years, there has been no large-scale nickel sulfide mine exploration and development
In order to enhance the "contact mechanism" governing the interaction of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) with low-grade copper-bearing sulfide ore for the bioleaching of copper, moderately thermophilic Acidithiobacillus caldus was subjected to exogenous intervention with iron and sulfur. The enhancement of the contact mechanism …

Metal sulfides are the most important group of ore minerals. Here, we review what is known about their compositions, crystal …
Many approaches were pursued to solve the "sulfide problem" at Broken Hill before selective flotation was developed. The successful technology involves first crushing the ore, typically to a particle size of about 5 to 50 micrometers, to liberate separate grains of the various valuable minerals and worthless gangue components. Then the particles are …

The traditional high alkaline process (HAP) always encounters challenges in handling pyrrhotite-rich type copper sulfide ore, especially the slow copper flotation rate and the unsatisfactory separation efficiency. In this study, HAP was optimized via pulp aeration and lime-aid grinding, and their beneficial effect was studied systematically.
The sulfide mineralogy varies systematically with sulfide mode and grade. In BSD59, there is a systematic change in sulfide mode and mineral assemblage from top to bottom of the ore-zone, corresponding to a gradual increase in sulfide mode from less than 1% to 25–35%.
